1. Introduction

Welcome to GeoSpy AI, operated by KEYBUY LTD (Company Number: 15562983), registered at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, England WC2H 9JQ. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our service.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account Information: Email address and name when you sign in with Google.
  • Usage Data: Information about how you use our service, including photos analyzed.
  • Abuse-prevention Data: Your IP address and a device fingerprint — a value derived from your browser and hardware characteristics (screen size, graphics capabilities, time zone, platform). We record these only when you use your free analysis, so that the same person cannot claim additional free analyses by creating extra Google accounts. See section 4 below.
  • Link Interaction Data: When you click a link to our iOS app on the App Store, we record that the click happened (which link, when, your IP address and device fingerprint) so we can measure how useful our app promotion is.
  • Location Game Data: When you play the location game, we store the rounds you were shown, the guesses you made and their scores, together with your IP address, the same device fingerprint described above and a signed random identifier held in the gs_play cookie. Each round loads a Google Street View panorama from a finite free monthly allowance, so these signals exist to enforce a daily limit — without them one visitor could exhaust the allowance for everyone. Game data is not linked to any photo you analyse and is not used for advertising or profiling.

The location game shows you a Street View panorama and asks you to guess where it is. It never uses your own location, and it does not request location permission from your browser or device.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain our service
  • To enforce the one-free-analysis-per-account limit and prevent abuse
  • To measure how many visitors move from the website to our mobile app
  • To send you service-related communications
  • To improve our AI location estimation accuracy

4. Free Usage Limit, IP Addresses and Device Fingerprints

GeoSpy AI is free and includes one AI analysis per Google account on the website. To keep that limit meaningful, when you use your free analysis we store your IP address and a device fingerprint alongside your account.

A device fingerprint is not a MAC address or any hardware serial number — web browsers do not make those available to websites, and we do not attempt to obtain them. It is a one-way hash computed from characteristics your browser already reports: screen dimensions, graphics renderer, processor and memory class, platform and time zone. It cannot be reversed to reveal anything about you, and we do not use it to track you across other websites.

Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f) / KVKK Art. 5): our legitimate interest in preventing abuse of a free service. Data is retained only as long as the limit needs to be enforced, and is deleted when you delete your account.

If you would rather not have this data recorded, you can simply not use the free web analysis — our iOS app is available on the App Store instead.

5. Image Processing

Important: We do NOT store your uploaded images. Photos are processed in real-time for location estimation and are immediately deleted after analysis. We do not retain, share, or use your images for any purpose other than providing the location estimation service.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information. All data transmission is encrypted using SSL/TLS protocols.

7. Third-Party Services

  • Google: For authentication (OAuth 2.0)
  • Vercel: For hosting
  • Google AI: For image analysis
  • Google Maps Platform: For Street View panoramas in the location game. Loaded only on that page, and subject to Google's privacy policy.
  • OpenStreetMap and CARTO: For the world map you drop your guess on, in the location game only.
